Zero Motorcycles offers all-new 2010 Zero DS and Zero S for under $7500 after California Rebate
Zero S and DS eligible for $1,500 rebate through California Clean Vehicle Rebate Program
Zero Motorcycles announced its plans for an upcoming “Discover the Experience Tour” across California as its newest state incentive program gets underway. The Zero DS dual sport motorcycle and the Zero S will now be available to California residents at the price of $7,495 after the $1,500 California Clean Vehicle Program rebate and ten percent federal tax credit.
“We could not be more thrilled to be the first electric motorcycle company approved for this rebate in the state of California,” said Gene Banman, CEO of Zero Motorcycles. “This new electric motorcycle rebate program is a result of hard work and dedication from the California Air Resources Board. It benefits everyone in the State of California from motorcycle enthusiasts to future generations who will breathe cleaner air.”
California customers will receive $1,500 off their purchase of a 2010 Zero S or Zero DS while funding for the program lasts, in addition to the ten percent federal tax credit. Zero Motorcycles will kick off the “Discover the Experience Tour” in Santa Cruz, California, and will continue across the state, visiting San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Zero’s Independent Representatives (IRs) will be offering demo rides of the entire product lineup, including the Zero S, Zero DS, Zero MX and Zero X.
Zero Motorcycles is the next step in motorcycle evolution and represents the ultimate electric motorcycle technology. Unencumbered by conventional thinking about how they design, manufacture and sell high performance electric motorcycles, they are on a mission to turn heads and revolutionize their industry by combining the best aspects of a traditional motorcycle with today’s most advanced technology. The result is an electric motorcycle line that’s insanely fast and environmentally friendly.
Zero Motorcycles first entered the motorcycle industry in 2006 with the all-electric Drift. In 2008 they launched the Zero X which exceeded all expectations by selling out before the year end. Its success blazed the path for the long awaited launch of the Zero S Supermoto motorcycle last year. Earlier this month, Zero Motorcycles announced the launch of its 2010 product line, including the Zero S, DS, X, and MX. With added power, increased acceleration, and enhanced power pack technology, Zero Motorcycles is continuing the innovation it’s known for and taking electric motorcycle technology to the next level.

Zero Motorcycles launches 2010 product line with four industry leading electric motorcycles
Improved Performance and a New Look Among Enhancements for 2010
After a breakthrough year in which it became the global leader in the electric motorcycle industry, Zero Motorcycles announced today the highly anticipated launch of its 2010 product line, including the Zero S, DS, X, and MX. With added power, increased acceleration, and enhanced power pack technology, Zero Motorcycles is continuing the innovation it’s known for and taking electric motorcycle technology to the next level. The street legal models are equipped with performance enhancements that allow for higher top speeds and greater acceleration. The entire lineup also features improvements in power pack technology and color graphics for the first time. The 2010 product launch makes Zero Motorcycles the first and only electric motorcycle company to launch four distinct models worldwide.
“Zero Motorcycles continues to blaze the path for electric motorcycle technology. Our engineering team has revamped, redesigned and tested four models that have considerable improvements for 2010. The result is more power on the street, a new look and an unparalleled riding experience,” said Gene Banman, CEO, Zero Motorcycles. “Demand in 2009 pushed us to aggressively expand our presence across the United States and around the world. The enhancements to this year’s models will resonate with both serious riders and casual motorcycle enthusiasts on a global level.”
Among the most significant advances on the 2010 Zero S and DS is the revolutionary Z-Force(TM) Air Induction System. A platform for performance, this system allows Zero to produce more horsepower from lighter and more compact motors by increasing the airflow through the heart of the motor. Zero is also introducing a new throttle technology that modulates the increased power to provide riders with exacting control over the acceleration. All 2010 motorcycles are powered using Z-Force(TM) power pack technology with new and more precise cell monitoring. The cumulative result of all this technology is a longer power pack life, more power, greater acceleration off the line and superior handling.
In addition to the increased performance capabilities, consumers now can choose between color graphic packages or Zero’s classic white on all four models, allowing riders to express themselves through personalized styling. New seat configurations are also an option for the 2010 Zero S and DS. Specially designed by Corbin, the new seats provide a more comfortable and performance-oriented ride. Those interested in reducing the stand over height of the motorcycle can now select a Corbin low seat option. The entire product line continues to be built from the ground up using Zero’s signature exposed aircraft grade alloy frame.
